Best Rooftop Bar in Bangkok: Vertigo Moon Bar

Located at the 61st floor of the luxurious Banyan Tree Hotel, Vertigo Moon Bar is the perfect spot for sunset lovers looking for a classy and sophisticated ambiance. The open-air bar offers a dazzling 360 degrees views over the Bangkokian skyline, whilst the remarkable height of the venue allows you to distance yourself from the incessant clamour of the metropolis.

The bar has a great selection of drinks sure to delight any taste and I have to say that our Guava juices were good enough, even though my attention was so completely drawn by the show-stealing panorama that I didn’t even finish half of it. A must try for the cocktail fans seems to be the “Vertigo Sunset” – a mix of Malibu, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, lime juice ( Baht 380/ 10 euros ) or one of the New Inspirations of Mixology, the Orange Oasis – Rum, D.O.M Benedictine, Orange, Ginger Ale ( same price ).

The staff is razor-sharp and used to the photo mania that seizes all ( and I repeat ALL ) the clients and even offer their services as professional photographers, taking multiple pictures in different angles and poses 😀

The best time to go is around 5:30 pm as after that it becomes pretty crowded and the only available seats are in the restaurant right below the bar platform ( which doesn’t sound so bad after all ). The dress code is smart casual so it would be better to leave your flip-flops at home.

The Vertigo Moon Bar is located in the business and embassy district of Bangkok, close to the Australian Embassy and Lumphini Park.

Below are some photos that captured the changes that occured in front of my eyes in just an hour.
