Shabby Chic Romance: Shtastliveca Restaurant in Sofia

Shtastliveca is the kind of welcoming restaurant where you immediately feel at ease. The appeal comes from the cozy shabby chic decor with its comfy sofas, beautiful vintage armoires and romantic floral and lace details all over the place. Plus the ultra attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff who befriend you and your dining companions.

The wide-ranging menu features some mouthwatering Bulgarian specialties among many international, and not less tempting, dishes. The long list of salads, hot and cold appetizers, meals with or without meat, pasta, risotto and pizzas can satisfy even the most pretentious tastes.

Considering that the restaurant boasts great popularity with the locals and it is always jam-packed, it is better to book in advance. It is located on the main shopping street but is hidden at the end of a long corridor of a residential building so you will have to pay close attention to the numbers. In summer the task gets easier as there are tables outside as well.

Shtastliveca restaurant: Vitosha Str, 27, Sofia; phone 02 441 11 55; open every day from 11:00 to 01:00

P.S. Shtastliveca mean happy person and is the nickname of Aleko Konstantinov, one of our greatest writers from the 19th century.

P.P.S. Thank to my friends Eva, Lidia, Rosi and Tamara for taking me there.
