Quick Meal at the Iranian Restaurant

Iranian food has been in my radar since my trip to Dubai two years ago. I really badly wanted to try something exotic and in one of the UAE’s touristic guides there was a mention about an Iranian restaurant in Deira. I though, yayyyy here I come, but my friends discouraged me to set foot in that area, let alone have a meal (well done, guys, really well done ;)). Of course, I didn’t miss visiting this old neighbouthood of Dubai but I was so terrified, expecting to be abducted any other moment and have my organs sold at the international trafficking market, that I didn’t even buy a bottle of water.

Luckily, the second chance arrived thanks to the Expo. This time the mission was successfully completed. I expected the food to have more Libanese-like taste but I would say that it is one step closer to the Indian one. Rice is the basic staple and is often combined with complex mix of spices, herbs, sweet and sour, cold and hot. As a lover of flavourful cuisine I’m definitely adding Iranian food to my favorites (except for the sweets). The only problem is that I don’t know where else I could try it. Currently Iran is not ranking as a top tourist paradise and I can’t recall seeing Iranian restaurant in any of the places I could easily reach.

Do you have any suggestions? Have you ever tried persian food? If yes, where?
