Irresistible Dessert Spot in Zürich: Conditorei Péclard

The benefit of walking without direction is the chance to stumble upon places like Conditorei Péclard, a traditional Swiss bakery.

Last week I was in Zürich for business and luckily we finished our meeting early so we had a couple of hours to explore the city.

I have to admit that I thought that Zürich was a boring place with cold atmosphere but, on the contrary, it turned out to be very welcoming and cozy. Especially the Old Town with its small streets full with nicely decorated shops and coffee places with relaxed vibe.

I was staring at one shop window when I realized that it actually was a pastry shop. The design was irresistible and a couple of minutes later we were inside wondering in which of the five different spaces to sit. At the end we opted for the only available table right next to the entrance with  a perfect view towards the huge pastries and the vintage silver cash desk.

The menu is only in German (which we don’t speak) but we somehow managed to order exactly what we wanted.

Conditorei Péclard is in the Old Town of Zürich, Napfgasse 4, Street.

  1. Oh these pastry shops are irresistible as are the candy stores and all those food stores too. I am fascinated by even a basic store like Pecks and was gobsmacked with all those legs of hamon

    1. Oh yes, food is a very important part during my travels and I see that it is the same for you, it completes the experience. Pecks? I thought it was a Milanese thing, I will check its story better.

  2. Hey Gabi! Glad you like Zurich 🙂 It’s a lovely city indeed. Let me know if you are ever back, so we can go for a coffee. I owe you one 😉

    1. You are confusing me… I thought you lived in Luzern, don’t tell me it’s Zurich! I actually thought of you but they said naaah he is another city ..
