Planning a Safari in Kenya from a Distance (with Mojhi.com)

This summer we were invited for a wedding in Kenya and we decided to combine it with a safari in Masai Mara. Three years ago when we went to Tanzania we used Mojhi.com and since it was a very good experience we decided to book again with them.

Mojhi acts like the middle man between the client and the local tour operators. I find their website is very easy and straightforward to use. All I had to do was to select where, how many days we wanted it to last and how many we were. After that I received an email from their customer service with all the options they provide: jeep or minivan transportation and various types of accomodation, from basic to luxury.

Once we agreed on everything they sent me a payment link for 30% of the total fee and that was it.

I have to say that having already had a first hand experience with them I didn’t have any concerns about anticipating 600$ to reserve the spot. The rest was to be paid on arrival.

After the advanced payment I was also contacted by the local safari operator to confirm pick up and drop off details.

I got a quotation directly from a local company as well and it was a bit higher than Mojhi with only two options for accomodation.

Many people keep contacting me on Instagram after reading my previous blog about Mojhi.com and I can say once more that I totally recommend them. So far we had two seamless experiences out of two.

I would just suggest to check on Tripadvisor or elsewhere, once you have the name of the local company, which are the recommended drivers as they can determine how successful is safari. Not everyone is a good spotter and it definitely can be a game changer.
