I’m very much into t-shirts, especially white ones with printed text. When I came to Bangkok 3 months ago in my luggage I had three pairs of jeans and nine plain white -tshirts. Why plain? Because I wasn’t able to find anywhere the kind of phrase that I wanted – a statement that will keep me motivated and inspired and that will remind me my purpose as I look at myslef in the mirror.
This is how the idea of creating my own t-shirts collection came up ( check www.chiclebelle.com :))and so the next step was finding the right supplier.
Googling is quite useless as even if you search in Thai, the results bring only to factories who obviously accept only big quantities ( > 1000 ).
Then I tried with MBK but they didn’t have the quality and the cut I was looking for, and also the prices weren’t convenient at all.
Then, after exploring every corner of Pratunam area, I discovered the Bayoke Tower which became my personal paradise for my business. It is full of t-shirt producers and even though they don’t always state that they also do customization I suggest that when you like the style and quality of someone you approach them and ask. Some of them even offer a customized cut and color.
Same story with JJ Market, you just have to walk and ask everyone whether you can do your own design. The prices are fair, the only problem is that many of them don’t speak English so knowing the basics of Thai can be very usefull.
In conclusion, a pair of comfortable shoes and long walks are the only way to find what you are looking for because the small companies don’t have websites, only a phone number and an email address.
Great post.
