When one door closes another one opens – this famous announcement by Alexander Bell has never felt as appropriate as last week when I was looking so much forward to go to one of my favorite place in Bangkok to only find out that it was closed for a private privaty for three days ( and it is open only three days in a week /nooooo/ ).
Since it would have been a very long day I didn’t want to start it empy handed ( read as ‘without having my daily dose of ice chocolate ) so I decided to drop by the newly opened Rocket Bar on Sukhumvit 49.
The serivce was top notch and I followed the suggestion of the waitress and ordered their signature hot chocolate, which is actually a do-it-yourself-kind-of-thing with the ingredients that they bring to you – milk, chocolate and cream that you have to mix.
The appealing Scandinavian design with large windows and abbundance of daylight coming in also contributed to a great visual experience. The bar also features a mezzanine floor, with a Starbucks vibe, with comfy chairs and sofas where you can enjoy a book or work on your laptop undisturbed.
The place is frequented by the local hisos, expats and the loveliest japanese ladies that talk the morning away over a tea, sharing the ultimate knitting tips and tricks. Sound good, doesn’t it?
Located on Sukhumvit Soi 49, 46/12 – look for Grease Bangkok. Only 12 minutes walking from BTS Thong Lor.
Looks like a lovely place to dine at! x
