There is one street in Milan, called Panfilo Castaldi, which is probably the most multiethnic street in the world.
A few months ago I walked from one end to another (around 500 meters) and I saw a Korean, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Eritrean and Swedish restaurant. Not bad for such a short distance, right? My attention was dragged by Björk, the Swedish brasserie, as I have never ever tried authentic Scandinavian food (not even the meat balls at IKEA).
I have to admit that I had forgotten about it until last week, when me and a friend of mine – a curious food explorer as well – decided to give it a try. I called to book earlier that evening as the restaurant is not very big and it gets crowded quite easily.
As expected, Björk has a typical nordic vibe, with blond wood tables, clean lines and light blue brick walls. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxing, and the service is worth a two stars Michelin restaurant – which actually made me feel a little bit anxious, since the staff were asking us all the time if everythings was alright, if we were enjoying the food, if we had any questions, etc. However, better overcaring than careless.
You can see below how the Swedish brasserie in Milan looks like, the menu and what we ordered.
