Bustling and busy streets. The shining golden beauty of a 2.500 years old pagoda. Somehwere in between the doctor’s house. Now home to one of the most luxurious hotels in Yangon – Savoy.
I can feel the old colonial charm as I walk slowly through the corridors and explore the spaces. Burmese teak furniture, traditional antiques and gently twirling fans are my companions.
I can’t wait to see the poolside and enjoy a fresh drink under the friendly shadow of Pathein’s traditional umbrellas. As I sip my watermelon juice a light, warm wind plays with the tall old trees above me. I surrender to the calmness of the place and almost forget that I am right in the heart of the buzzing and clamorous Yangon. A dream.

What a beautiful luxury place for a romantic holiday treat 🙂
Totally, it feels like home but with a few extras 🙂
Indeed 😀 And a very good escape from the super busy city where we were holidaying 😉
