Coffee Time in an Extraordinary House in Milan: Villa Necchi

I have known Villa Necchi for a long time for a very specific reason. I realize that the moment I tell you, you might become my competition but I will take the risk anyway. The fact is that in the surrounding side streets it is always easy to find a parking place before you lose yourself (yes, you, because I never get lost) in the chaotic senter of Milan.

In the past the villa belonged to bright exponents of the Made in Italy enterpreneurship. They were important producers of cast iron and sewing machines and were famous in town for the elegant parties they were throwing. The house was perfectly suitable for this purpose with its big garden, tennis court and Milan’s first heated swimming pool.

Today Villa Necchi is open to the public as a museum and it still boasts the above mentioned facilities (but please don’t go there with your bikini) plus a very nice and charming coffee shop. When the weather is nice it is possible to have a seat in the garden and relax under the shade of the leafy trees. Something that I often do when I am not and work. And when I don’t gave allergy.

*The entrance fee of € 9 applies only for the house building. The gardens and the coffee shop can be visited for free.

Villa Necchi is in Mozart 14, Str. in Milan (walking distance from San Babila and Palestro red line metro stations).

Here are some photos as a prove that it is really an extraordinary place.

I was wearing Brera loafers and bag by Fratelli Rossetti; shades by Barton Perreira.
