Vietnam was not how I imagined it to be and even more so the Vietnamese fashion.
I expected to see low cost and low quality garments all around, like in the other countries in SE Asia. But the truth is that one of the reasons I would return to Ho Chi Minh City is for shopping, especially for elegant dresses.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover the creations of the local designers which didn’t have at all that sometimes subtle sometimes extreme Asian feel . On the contrary their collections could be sold everywhere around the world and all at a fraction of the price we normally pay for a Western brand.
The fabrics are soft and smoth to the touch and the designs have a timeless appeal but in the same time are contemporary and sleek. Undoubtedly a good choice for every woman that is looking for a feminine look.
Here is a quick glimpse into what can you expect from Vietnamese fashion in Ho Chi Minh City. It features both designer shops and random ones in District 1.
