Bali is a tricky place. If you don’t know where to go you might be disappointed.
Luckily during our last three days we happened to stay at Swiss Belhotel Segara and it added a very positive note to our holiday impressions.
The hotel is located in the southeastern part of the island, in the upscale Nusa Dua. It is one of the most developed areas in Bali, with up-market shopping, well-maintained roads, golf course, temples and white golden sands beaches.
After days of exploration in Ubud and Ijen Volcano we spent some of our time winding off and enjoying the facilities of our new hotel. With two beautiful pools it was hard to decide by which one to read our books and sip cocktails so at the end we divided our mornings between the two of them. We even got a complimentary picture from the professional photographer of the hotel.
In the afternoons we explored upside down the nearby beaches which are some of the best in Bali. Swiss Belhotel offers a free shuttle to Geger beach but we arranged, thanks to the receptionist, a scooter for 90.000 ripiah per day. We were pleasantly surprised to finally find a place where it was possible to swim. The sparkling blue water was relatively calm and the long and large stretches of sandy beach make this spot perfect for a carefree leisure.
Since we missed the rougher waters (am I kidding?) of Bali we headed north to the Water Blow where we could witness the power of nature as big waves from the Indian ocean crashed violently against the cliffs.
Nusa Dua was our last stop in Bali before flying back to Milan but I wish it was the first so that we could explore it more deeply. If you are ever in the area don’t miss it.
And if you are looking for a great place to stay check out Swiss Belhotel Segara. They have unbeatable prices and the best breakfast buffet ever!
