There are not many things to do in summer in Dubai when it’s 50 degrees outside. Actually, I can only think of a few and all except one are indoors. You either stay at home, in the mall, at the restaurant, in the cinema or, my favorite, in the pool. While the sea water can be quite warm, the pools are always chilled and offer the much wanted respite from the burning heat.
We recently went for a pool day in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. I had seen the Executive pool once and it left me with the feeling that it’s one of the most relaxing and beautiful spots in Dubai. It’s huge, right next to the beach, not crowded and with the perfect view of Burj Al Arab.
We got really lucky and got upgraded to a private cabana instead of the usual sunbeds. The cabanas are amazing because they are under the shade of the trees and the soft seating and pillows just added extra comfort to our leisure time.
For lunch we headed to Beach Villa, a Mediterranean restaurant right next to the Executive Pool. I had no clue that I would have one of the best meals of my life. The fried octopus was my highlight as I haven’t seen it anywhere else in Dubai. I wish I had heard about this restaurant earlier. The chef is Italian and he told us that in the future the menu will be even more focused on Italian food. The venue must be perfect in the less warm months for al fresco dining. I am ready to sacrifice myself and check it out again in 2-3 months, just for the purpose of completeness of this blog.
Here are a few pictures from our perfect day in Jumeirah Beach hotel. I wish every weekend was like this.
